The Heritage Marquee

Family-friendly variety acts are on the Heritage Marquee stage all day.  

Everything from a very special demonstration of French Cuisine from the famous Akaroa Cooking School, A  fashion parade from the colourful Akaroa label Mr Peacock – not to mention the World Famous Cock  Crowing Competition! Have you ever tried your hand at opening a bottle of champagne with a sabre? Have a go! 

Heritage, arts and culture stalls are buzzing around the perimeter. We love showcasing our local geology and marine ecology, meet our conservationists and learn about their work on the Peninsula.  

Akaroa Area School will screen their Tūrangawaewae films. 

Onuku Runanga, Alliance Francaise, French and German family descendant, and history stalls. Victorian photography and Akaroa Community Arts Council with a life drawing experience.

More stalls than ever, featuring Artisan local food and wine, free family fun games to entertain, and live music on  The Festival Rotunda all day. Lots of things for the kids to do, from free French traditional games, a petting zoo  and of course, a bouncy castle!  

Don’t miss The French Festival World Famous Waiters Race or Cock Crowing Competition! Join in – prizes to be  won!  

Look out for our fabulous French Festival Troubadours. There to add colour and carnival fun – see if they’ll  teach you to juggle! Have your pictures taken with this great bunch of circus performers.
